Information Collection and Use for Group Managers

While using our site we may ask you to provide us with personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. 

The following type of personal information is gathered from group managers/contacts:

i. IP address (Computers used to submit information)

ii. Your Name (Optional - use first only only if preferred)

ii. A Unique Username

vi. Password

v. Where you come from, by way of coarse map coordinates.

vi. Mobile Number & Email Address (used to contact you for various service alerts).

How we use the information we gather

We collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit or site and this is known as a log data.  This type of data may include information such as your computers IP address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our site that you visit, the time and date of your visit and the time spent on those pages and other statistics.  

We use the information to allow you to manage your unique account. We require your contact details to correctly send you notifications, and we require a unique username for you to create an account. Your password is used to access your Community Alert account.

Information Collection and Use for Group Subscribers

A major part of this service is to store and manage information on community alert group subscribers in order to ensure that they receive accurate alerts through their preferred communication channels. What a group managers opts to store for each subscriber is entirely up to them. The system has facility to store the following optional fields of information for subscribers

i. Mobile Number

ii. Email Address

ii. Landline Number

At all times the service acts as a Data Processor for each subscriber database, whereas the community alert group is the Data Controller and is ultimately responsible for the ownership of their database.
